The Problem
Consider this startling and humbling statistic: according to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, one and half million children in America have a parent in prison. Even more sobering is the fact that these kids are seven times more likely than
other kids to commit crimes. Sociologists now understand that the leading indicator of criminal behavior is having a parent behind bars.
On Target Ministries is excited to announce that we are expanding into prison ministry full steam to help stop the cycle described above. While we don't pretend to understand all of the reasons why a person enters into a life of crime, we can provide the answers to the two most important questions in all of life: how did God create me and why am I here?
We believe that the answers to these critical questions will impact not only thousands of inmates living in our nation's correctional institutions, but also the forgotten victims of their crimes - future generations. The following proposal outlines how we intend to go about this important ministry.
