Newsletter - February, 2001
Dear Friends,
February was quite an eventful month for On Target Ministries. The past few weeks have been rich with
expectation and excitement. I pray that you will enjoy this encouraging report!
At the beginning of the month, Cindy and I set out for Statesville, NC where I conducted the "Men On Target"
seminar at Western Avenue Baptist Church. Between the event and the following Sunday services, I had an
opportunity to reach over 1,000 men and women and fifteen were saved. Cindy and I were also asked to lead a
Valentine's Banquet earlier in the week. Two hundred were in attendance that evening. It was a delightful time of
fellowship and sharing.
From Statesville, Cindy and I flew directly to Atlanta, GA to revisit Summit Baptist Church (located in Acworth)
for a "Couples On Target" seminar. It was our largest COT ever, drawing in almost 100 couples. Cindy and I were
so blessed by the the dear people that we met through this event. Eight were saved during our time together. The
following Sunday I delivered a message entitled, "Fear and Obey" to a congregation of 1000 and another twenty
joined the kingdom.
After a brief turn around in Colorado, I boarded another plane and headed back to Atlanta. This time I was to lead
the "Men On Target" seminar at First Baptist Church in Mableton, GA. A gentleman by the name of George Flury
was the coordinator for our gathering. Rather than explain the details myself, I would like to share the e-mail that
we received from George the week after our event:
Dear Vince,
What a Glorious Sunday we had! Pastor Tim made several references in his morning sermon to the powerful
blessings that God poured out during the Men on Target Seminar. The Praise Band that led us in Worship
on Friday and Saturday led us again in both services. This was a FIRST for FBM!!! Then when the Pastor
gave the invitation, three adult men and one young man responded. Two of those men came because they
had made decisions on Saturday. One man, a member of that church for thirty years, got up in the pulpit
and gave a ten minute testimony and confirmed that he got SAVED on "Saturday, February 24, 2001!"
Another, who has been separated from his wife for some time, came in open brokenness - repented of his
lifestyle - his wife came down from the choir - I saw people weeping whom I've not seen previously moved by
anything.
Then, Sunday night, Dr. T. (who got the medication for your eyes) came forward and announced that he had
nailed down his salvation on Saturday. He said that you answered all the questions that had haunted him
for years!
I've had men come up to me since Saturday to tell me they have chosen partners to begin accountability
groups; others have asked how to get started. Last night, after the evening service, we were fellowshipping
(that's Baptist for eating together) with some folks, all of whom had played a part in the seminar. One of the
members of the personnel committee and I talked about the structure of the ministry "that Pastor Tim would
lead."
Praise be to God!!! And, thank you for allowing Him to make His Strength Perfect, in your weakness. Thank
you for having the courage and faith to show up and let God have ALL of you. This may not have been the
largest group you've ministered to, and it may not be the greatest harvest that you have seen, but it was a
miracle of God's Grace in our lives.
What a remarkable testimony of His grace! I was so overwhelmed by this incredible praise report. I hope that
you will join us in rejoicing over all that God has accomplished!
