Warm greetings from your friends at On Target Ministries. I pray that you are experiencing a tremendous sense of refreshment during this rejuvenating season. Each one of our events this past month attests to the renewing and cleansing power of our Lord and Savior. I am thrilled to have this opportunity to share what I have both witnessed and learned over these past few weeks of ministry.

My first venture was to Indianapolis, Indiana where I was to participate in the National Coalition of Men’s Ministries (NCMM) Annual Leadership Conference. This gathering is held in order to plan and prepare for the upcoming NCMM National Conference for Men, which includes pastors and men’s leaders from various denominations across the United States. But what takes place during these preliminary leadership meetings always ends up becoming something much more meaningful. For me it was a time of personal conviction and growth. This group of men is truly a God ordained brotherhood, one in which wisdom and encouragement abound. I continue to feel blessed to be a part of what God is doing in and through this incredible organization.

Next on my agenda, was a trip to Eureka, California. Cindy and I were both invited to come and conduct a “Couples On Target” event for First Covenant Church. Again, the Lord moved and eight were saved. Many others testified to the healing and restoring response to our outreach. During our time together, there was one moment that seemed to be particularly poignant, especially in relation to one very enthusiastic member of their congregation. It occurred just following my explanation of our identity as Christians and how we ought to see ourselves as new creatures in Christ...not as “converted worms”, but as beautiful butterflies. This powerful perspective spoke directly to the heart of one of our attendees. She approached us later that day and told us about how she used to see and refer to herself as a “cater fly.” Her heart was convicted, and she discovered anew her true identity in our precious Lord.

The next weekend, I was called to the beautiful and renowned Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California. I was asked to speak at their International Men’s Conference. While there, I conducted a plenary session and one workshop. Upon the close of one of my sessions, it occurred to me that no one had asked if anyone wanted to accept Christ yet. After receiving approval to do so, and with a sense of prompting in my heart, I delivered an invitation. The result....thirty men accepted Christ! Now let me remind you, this was a leadership conference. What an awesome and mighty movement of the Lord!

I cannot think of a more definitive display of God’s renewing and life breathing power than what happened next. It is with incredible joy that I announce the arrival of our second grandson...Hayden Vincent Butchko entered this world on Thursday, August 25th at 6:05pm-weighing in at a healthy 7.2 lbs. What a delight he is! Cindy and I are still basking in the miraculous wonder of this new little one. We have been so blessed!

Just following Hayden’s arrival, Cindy and I were to conduct another “Couples On Target” seminar in Montrose, CO. The new Grandma decided that her help was needed with our daughter, and thus, I set off on this next journey alone. Thirty couples attended this small town event, and thirteen were saved. It was a terrific ending to a month of new birth and refreshment.

Cindy and I want to thank you for your continued support of what God is doing through our ministry. Your affirmation is an incredible gift. We love you and hope that these monthly reports are as encouraging to you as they are to us. We hope that you will remain faithful in giving and in prayer. There is much work that needs to be done, and we are ready to hit the battlefields!

Breathing new life together,
Vince
