June was an action packed month here at On Target Ministries. It all started with a trip to St. Albert Alliance Church, in St. Albert, Alberta. This particular event, booked by one of Canada’s mega churches, was initially scheduled as a “Couples on Target” seminar. However, just a few weeks prior to the engagement, the Sr. Pastor resigned and our event was cancelled. At that time, I was invited to come and train/encourage the leadership team through this time of transition and challenge. While there, I also conducted an abbreviated couples event, ministered to their staff, and spoke at three services.
God is so good! Had our event been canceled completely, sixty men and women would not have accepted the Lord that weekend. This incredible response left the leadership with a sense of both extreme awe and excitement. I pray that I was able to leave the tools to sustain the momentum and continue the good work that God is doing in and among their congregation.
Just a few days after my return from Alberta, I found myself in some excruciating pain, and discovered that I was suffering from a kidney stone. With two other scheduled events just days away, I prayed for relief and pressed on. I am happy to report that I have been pain-free now for several weeks. If you have ever had a kidney stone, you can sympathetically join me in a resounding, “Hallelujah!”
My second event was a Man In The Mirror seminar hosted just five hours away in Montrose, Colorado. About fifty men attended and five more were saved. I enjoyed getting to know the staff and congregation at Montrose Christian Church, and look forward to the possibility of returning to their beautiful area with our “Men On Target” event sometime soon!
June wrapped up with “On Target Ministries’ Summer Tee-Off 2001,” our annual golf tournament and fund raiser. This year, we were blessed with gorgeous weather and an incredible group of participants. Both Ron Roberts, Executive Director of Honor Bound Men of Promise, and Dan Erickson, Founder of the National Coalition of Men’s Ministries, gave encouraging endorsements at our evening banquet. With this letter, I have enclosed some pictures from our day out on the green that I think you might enjoy.
Please continue to pray for us as we navigate through the remainder of summer, that God would bless us in ministry and in finances. Pray also for the release of “Wired to Work,” which is scheduled to hit bookstores sometime this month. We are so excited about this project and its potential impact! For details on how you can obtain a copy of our new release, please contact Kristen at 800-367-6364.
On behalf of Cindy, Kristen and myself, we love you. May our Lord and Savior bless you with every good thing and may you experience a special sense of His grace and peace throughout this next month.
In His service,
Vince D'Acchioli
