Greetings dear one. Summer has finally arrived, and with the dawn of this new
season there comes an abundance of exciting festivities. Cindy and I always look
forward to these next few months with a sense of great delight as we anticipate
an opportunity for a little rest and relaxation, a few weekends out on the lake
and most importantly, the extra time that we are able to spend with our precious
children and grandchildren! I pray that you are reveling in many of these same
joys!
I am especially thrilled to be writing to you today with another encouraging
ministry report. The month of May was a prosperous time of outreach for On
Target Ministries. It began with a trip to Maryville, Illinois where I was asked
to speak on several different occasions. My first appointment was a special
workshop for Baptist pastors. During this meeting, I spoke to over one hundred
pastors and leaders, as well as the local Mayor. My topic was "The Six Elements
of an Effective Church." The response was overwhelming and I have been invited
to come back next year to conduct a series of messages on this same subject.
The following morning, I delivered a speech at the Mayor's prayer breakfast.
Over one hundred and fifty community leaders and three Mayors from surrounding
cities attended. My discussion was on "Real Christianity in an Unreal World," a
challenging message on how we are approaching our culture in dysfunctional ways.
Six people were saved upon the close of our time together. An awesome finish
indeed!
I was also delighted to have Cindy with me on the journey to Maryville.
Together, we delivered a "Couples on Target" Seminar for the First Baptist
Church. Seventy men and women attended. It was a powerful time in the Word and
our hearts felt that our time together was truly guided by the Holy Spirit.
In concluding our week in Illinois, I conducted the weekend services for First
Baptist Church. Approximately eight hundred attended. In all, 18-20 men and
women were ushered into the kingdom over the course of this week. What an
awesome God we serve and what a privilege it is to be used as one of His
vessels!
Upon our return home to Colorado, Cindy and I were asked to deliver another
"Couples on Target" event for Sunnyside Christian Church in Colorado Springs.
Fifty men and women attended this event and another four came to a saving
knowledge of our Lord and Savior! Glory to God!
Towards the end of May, I flew off to our old stomping grounds, Van Nuys,
California to be a student at Pastor Jack Hayford's "Pastoral School of
Nurture." It was so refreshing to sit under my cherished mentor and friend. As I
sat back, trying to absorb an incredible amount of wisdom and knowledge, I
experienced an especially poignant and emotional moment. Pastor Hayford stopped
in the middle of his talk and looked at all forty four of us and said, "You know
what my passion is?" When I get up to speak it all comes down to two things I
want to see happen in my people-for them to know how special they are and how
much our Lord loves them, and then to discover God's great purpose for their
life." I choked up as I began to realize that this awesome man of God was one of
the tools that the Lord used to impart this same passion in my heart…the passion
that drives On Target Ministries! I thank the Lord for Pastor Hayford and for
the all of the truth gained during our time together.
I want to thank you as well for being one of our partners and for taking this
journey with us, wherever the Lord leads. I pray that you will continue to be
faithful via your prayers and giving, especially during the summer months. The
next three months will present an additional financial challenge, yet, we know
that the Lord will see us through.
Before closing, I would like to request your prayers for Brad Fallentine, our
new On Target Institute President. Brad is settling into his new position with
great ease and looks forward to how the Lord is going to use him to expand this
much needed outreach. Please pray that the Lord will continue to guide him and
grant him wisdom in the days ahead.
Finally, we would also appreciate your prayers for our upcoming golf tournament
scheduled for Monday morning, June 20th. We are so looking forward to this
event, and it looks like we may have a record number of golfers joining us this
year. As you know, this fund raiser plays a key role in easing our summer
expenses, and we are trusting the Lord for tremendous success!
As you have read, awesome displays of the Lord's handiwork continue to happen
all around us! Cindy and I are so excited about what He is doing and thank Him
daily for His guidance, provision and protection. May you be blessed with this
same bounty!
Serving Him together,
Vince D’Acchioli

TARGETPOINT
“Spring up, O well! Sing about
it.”
Num. 21:17
This was a strange song and a
strange well. The children of Israel had been traveling over the desert's barren
sands, and they were desperate for water, but there was none in sight. Then God
spoke to Moses and said, “Gather the people together and I will give them water”
(Num. 21:16).
The people then gathered around with
their rods. As they began to dig deeply into the burning sand, they sang,
“Spring up, O well! Sing about it.” Soon a gurgling sound was heard, and
suddenly a rush of water appeared, filling the well and running along the
ground. As they had dug the well in the desert, they had tapped the stream that
ran below and that had been unseen for a very long time.
What a beautiful picture this is!
And it describes for us the river of blessings that flows through our lives. If
only we will respond with faith and praise, we will find our needs supplied even
in the most barren desert.
Again, how did the children of
Israel reach the water of this well? It was through praise. While standing on
the burning sand and digging the well with their staff of promise, they sang a
praise song of faith.
Our praise will bring forth “water
... in the wilderness and streams in the desert” (Isa. 35:6), while complaining
will only bring judgment. Even prayer by itself may fail to reach the fountain
of blessings.
Nothing pleases the Lord as much as
praise. There is no greater evidence of faith than the virtue of genuine
thanksgiving. Are you praising God enough? Are you thanking Him for the
countless blessings He has bestowed on you? Are you boldly praising Him even for
the trials in your life, which are actually blessings in disguise? And have you
learned to praise Him in advance for answers yet to come?
You're waiting for deliverance!
O soul, you're waiting long!
Believe that your deliverance
Does wait for you in song!
Complain not till deliverance
Your fettered feet does free:
Through songs of glad deliverance
God now surroundeth thee.
Our lives are weighed by the
LORD.
