Attitude And Action

Session Outline:

1Cor. 2:14 The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

People who do not believe that Jesus is Lord do not have a context for life that will allow them to understand spiritual principles. We must accept this and not become impatient.

God’s plan for planet earth is simple:

"That an invisible God is made visible in the actions of those who fellowship with His Son Jesus.

The idea here is that God wants to reveal His love to others through those who would believe He is Lord. This is an incredible privilege. We must live up to the challenge that this idea represents. The stakes are high.

Three things I must do:

1. Develop a healthy _______________ toward others (1 Cor. 2:14)

2. Get out of your ________________ - ____________ (Num. 32:1-7)

3. Keep the __________ in view

"Jesus is not looking for your ability,

He is looking for your obedience."

Life Implication:

Prov. 19:3 Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established.

The above verse suggests that if we will commit our "works" (behavior), to the Lord our "thoughts" (attitude) will be established. In psychology we are taught that attitude follows behavior and here the Bible validates this idea.

Our job is to go out of our way to serve and think the best of others. We must always see others the way God does--with unlimited potential. Anything less not only shortcuts how God may want to use us but can also minimize the potential of others.

Continue to read and meditate on 1 Peter 2:12-3:17

Discussion Question:

Do I have the proper attitude toward others? Am I willing to get out of my comfort zone?
