Session Outline:
Passing on The Blessing to our Children. The
Blessing establishes:
1. _________ you are
2. ___________ you are
What is The Blessing? The Blessing is merely
agreeing with God about a persons purpose, value, and future. It is connecting
the Power of God in the heavenly realms to the earthly world that we live in.
Matt 3:17 And a voice from
heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well
pleased."
Matt 17:5 While he was
still speaking, a bright cloud enveloped them, and a voice from the cloud said,
"This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to
him!"
Mark 9:7 Then a cloud
appeared and enveloped them, and a voice came from the cloud: "This is my
Son, whom I love. Listen to him!"
Luke 9:35 A voice came
from the cloud, saying, "This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to
him."
2 Pet 1:17 For he received
honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic
Glory, saying, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well
pleased."
Life Implication:
Most men lack the Father’s Blessing in their own lives and
they are still trying to prove themselves and earn their father’s approval and
his blessing. You can not give what you do not possess.
Because most men have not received the blessing or approval.
They do not know who they are or whose they are. Even as Christians or
believers, they do not see themselves as sons.
Rom 8:15 For you did not receive
a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of
sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father."
Most men are physically able to reproduce but unable to
spiritually reproduce. Without The Father’s Blessing, most men are spiritually
impotent or infertile.
- Some go through the motions or actions but
cannot reproduce (Infertile)
- Many cannot even go through the motions of reproducing (Impotent).
Discussion Question:
Can you remember when you received your "Drivers
License?" Do you remember when you graduated from High School? Do you
remember when you were married? Do you remember the first time you had sex? Do
you remember when your father blessed you as a man? What are you doing to still
try to earn your father’s approval? Why? What will it take for you to really
know who you are??
