Session Outline:
Eph. 5:1-2 Therefore be
imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also
loved you, and gave himself up for us…
Three keys to impact your workplace:
1. Display ____________ and _______________ love. (Eph. 5:1-2)
2. __________ and ____ where they are. (1Cor. 9:19-22)
3. Be ________________ to the _____________. (John 14:26)
As Christians we must become comfortable with being
rather than doing. People listen to who we are...not what
we say. In a resent study of human communication is was found that people
respond 7% to words, 38% to tone of voice and 55% to nonverbal behavior.
As believers in Christ we are commanded to love
everyone. This does not mean we are going to like everyone.
Peoples heart are usually in one of four places: Fruitful,
weed-filled, rocky or hardened.
Life Implication:
1 Cor. 9:19-22 Though I am
free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as
possible. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win
the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I
myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. To those not
having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from
God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law.
To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men
so that by all possible means I might save some.
Paul is talking about the importance of knowing where people
are and being to them what they want. He is careful to point out that this does
not mean entering into their sin. Rather, we must look for people’s felt needs
first in order to minister eventually to their real need--Jesus.
People need to see Jesus in us...not just hear about
Him.
The good news is that we do not need to be preoccupied with reaping...just
sew.
Discussion Question:
How would you rate yourself in the three keys to impacting
your workplace? What adjustments might you make in the way you approach people
you work with?
